BOARD OF SELECTMEN
Minutes
March 30, 1996
Board met in Special Session as part pf a Finance Committee Meeting in their
Meeting Room in Abbot Hall at 8:10 A.M.
Present (constituting a quorum):
William E. Conly
Robert F. Peck, Jr., Acting Chairman
William M. Purdin
Diane E. St. Laurent
Anthony M. Sasso, Town Adminstrator
Joint Meeting with Finance Committee
Motion made by Selectman St. Laurent to appoint Mr. Peck Acting Chairman.
Seconded. All in favor.
Primary purpose of this meeting was for the Finance Committee to approve
the several budgets under the direction of the Board of Selectmen. See Finance
Committee Meeting minutes for this date for the various votes taken by the
Finance Committee.
Votes taken by the Board of Selectmen were as follows:
POLICE DEPARTMENT. Motion made to accept Police salaries of $1,822,916.
Seconded. Motion made to amend the previous motion to add two dispatchers.
No second. Motion made to reduce by the cost of one dispatcher. No second.
The vote on the first motion was 3 in favor with Mr. Conly opposed.
WORKERS' COMPENSATION. Motion made and seconded to reconsider Workers' Compensation
budget. All in favor. Motion made to table motion until further consideration
by the Board of Selectmen. No second. Motion made and seconded to approve
$250,000 Workers' Compensation Budget. All in favor.
Motion made and seconded to adjourn at 1:37 p.m. All in favor.
