Three Skydives

EXITS, STABILITY RECOVERY, AXIS CONTROL,
UNSUPERVISED FREEFALL

Exit and Freefall: Door exit; full altitude, aerobatics; unsupervised freefall

Canopy:
Stalls, traffic avoidance; 50 meters unassisted; the “sweet spot;” rectangular versus elliptical

Equipment:
Complete orientation (open canopy); component identification; unassisted pre-flight; comprehensive RS, assisted packing

Emergency review:
Training harness: two canopies out; high-wind landings; independent aircraft emergencies

Rules & Recs:
SIM2-1 (winds); 5-1 (dual deployments); 5-3 (RSLs); 5-3 (altimeters); FAR 91 (pilot responsibilities); FAR 105.43.a and b (packing authorization and interval)

Spotting & Aircraft:
Aircraft orientation; airspeed; weight and balance; winds aloft; intro spot selection; assist with jump run

Written/Oral quiz

DIVE FLOW (Jump E-1):

1. Exit unpoised (diving) with instructor, no grips
2. Short COA
3. Instructor moves to the front and demonstrates a back loop
4. Short COA
5. Student does a back loop, short COA, student does another back loop, short COA
6. Locate the airport and track for three seconds
7. Short COA, repeat until 4,500 feet
8. Initiate deployment procedures without prompting and pull by 3,500 feet
9. Back riser steering with brakes still set, canopy check, practice flares at varying speeds and heights of flare and execute your planned unassisted landing pattern, stand up with 50 meters of target
10. Assisted packing
11. Debrief

DIVE FLOW (Jump E-2):

1. Diving exit with instructor
2. Short COA
3. Student does a front loop, short COA, left turn 360 degrees
4. Short COA|
5. Forward motion to re-dock
6. Short COA, repeat front loop, short COA, right turn 360 degrees
7. Repeat to 6,000 feet, turn 180 degrees and track until 4,500 feet
8. Initiate deployment procedures without prompting and pull by 3,500 feet
9. Back riser steering with brakes still set, canopy check, and execute your planned unassisted landing pattern, stand up with 50 meters of target
10. Unassisted packing
11. Debrief

DIVE FLOW (Jump E-3):

1. Diving exit with instructor
2. Short COA
3. Student does a barrel roll, back loop, front loop, short COA, left turn 360 degrees
4. Short COA
5. Forward motion to re-dock
6. Short COA, repeat front loop, short COA, right turn 360 degrees
7. Repeat to 6,000 feet, turn 180 degrees and track until 4,500 feet
8. Initiate deployment procedures without prompting and pull by 3,500 feet
9. Back riser steering with brakes still set, canopy check, and execute your planned unassisted landing pattern, stand up with 50 meters of target
10. Unassisted packing
11. Debrief
