FREEFALL TURNS and FALL RATE

Exit and Freefall: Solo, controlled, heading control; freefall speeds and times

Canopy: Back riser control with and without brakes; stand-up; 50 meters assisted

Equipment: Assisted pre-flight gear check; AAD operation; AAD owner’s manual

Emergency review: Training harness: routine opening problems; instant recognition and response’ building landings

Rules & Recs: SIM 5-21 (buildings): SIM 5-3 (AADs); FAR 105.17 (clouds)

Spotting & Aircraft: Jump run observation; looking below for aircraft

Skydive #5

DIVE FLOW (Jump D-1):

1. Exit with one instructor
2. COA, check right, announce altitude, wait for corrective hand signals or OK.
3. Get and maintain a heading, check altitude
4. Four 90-degree turns within 20 degrees, short COA
5. Initiate deployment procedures without prompting and pull by 4,000 feet
6. Back riser steering with brakes still set, canopy check and execute your planned unassisted landing pattern, stand up with 50 meters of target
7. Debrief

Skydive #6

DIVE FLOW (Jump D-2):

1. Exit with one instructor
2. COA, check right, announce altitude, wait for corrective hand signals or OK.
3. Get and maintain a heading, check altitude
4. Two 360-degree turns (with head switch) within 45 degrees (margin of error), check altitude, and then two 180-degree turns within 45 degrees (margin of error), check altitude
6. Initiate deployment procedures without prompting and pull by 4,000 feet
7. Back riser steering with brakes still set, canopy check and execute your planned unassisted landing pattern, stand up with 50 meters of target
8. Debrief
