Skydive #1


Exit and Freefall: Adaptation to skydiving environment; principles of deployment, poised student-led exit with two instructors, MAIN and RESERVE

Canopy: Steering, intro pattern, wind line, landing procedures

Equipment: Altimeter operation, handle orientation, instructor gear checks

Emergency review: Passive aircraft emergencies

Rules & Recs: FAR 91.107 (seat belts), SIM 21 (first jump course)

Spotting & Aircraft:
Propeller avoidance, movements in the aircraft


DIVE FLOW

1. Exit in relaxed arch
2. Instructors release arm grips

2. COA, check left, announce altitude, wait for corrective signals or OK. Check right,
announce altitude, wait for corrective hand signals or OK.
3. Perform three practice ripcord touches (PRCTs), maintaining a good, stable body position
4. COA, check left, announce altitude, wait for corrective signals or OK. Check right,
announce altitude, wait for corrective hand signals or OK.
5. Lock on at 6,000 feet and begin wave off at 5,500 feet, pull without prompting by 4,500 feet
6. Canopy check, look for traffic around you and execute your planned landing pattern
7. Debrief
